Membership

Library Cards are free to residents of Bay, Gulf, and Liberty counties. Neighboring counties' fees are $15.00 per year.

To join us just fill in an application form and show us proof of your name and address.

A parent or guardian's signature is necessary for children under age 14. Parents are responsible for their children's book selections.


Loan Period

All books are free. The check-out period for most materials is three weeks. Videos are checked out for three weeks. If you'd like them for longer periods, then telephone, write or pay us a visit to avoid a fine. Most materials, may be renewed for another circulation period if they are not overdue and not reserved for another patron. Materials that are checked out may be placed on hold.


Overdue Fines

Overdue fines are charged to encourage the prompt return of materials. Fines are 10 cents per item per day to a maximum of $5.00. Charges are also made for damaged materials and for items lost or never returned. Patrons are responsible for the cost of the materials plus a processing fee of $5.00 per item.

In addition to books, we provide videos, audio books, newspapers,
magazines, and tax and several legal forms.

Special Needs

Liberty County Library has available large print books and illuminated magnifiers.

We also have a special provision for adults who have an interest in literacy-ABE, GED and ESOL. Held at the Family Center.

We have trained tutors for one-to-one, small group and ESL tutoring. Computer assisted lessons are available. Volunteers are always needed.
