Library Mission

The Harrell Memorial Library serves Liberty County citizens of all ages. Library services and resources feature current high-interest materials in a variety of formats, assists students in meeting educational objectives established during their formal courses of study, and supports individuals pursuing a program of independent learning development. In providing these services, the library draws on the resources of the Northwest Regional Library System of which it is a member. The Library Advisory Board and staff are committed to providing quality, cost effective service.


Library Roles

Primary role:

  • Popular materials library. The library features current, high demand, high interest materials in a variety of formats for persons of all ages.

    Secondary roles:

    1. Formal Education Support Center. The library assists students of all ages in meeting educational objectives established during their formal courses of study.
    2. Independent Learning Center. The library supports individuals of all ages pursuing a sustained program of learning on an independent basis.
