Welcome to
Liberty County
Florida, USA
"A Country unto Itself. . ."

Nestled between two rivers, the Ochlockonee on the east and the Apalachicola on the west, Liberty County is located in the panhandle of Florida and is one of the state's least populated counties. With the southern 2/3 of the county occupied by the Apalachicola National Forest and the northern 1/3 by farmland, Liberty County retains much of its rustic, untamed beauty. Outdoor activities such as hunting, fishing, canoeing, and picnicking are as much a part of modern life in Liberty County as they were when the county was established in 1855.

Here, the term "liberty " has two meanings: the American freedom from political coercion and the citizen's freedom to live next to nature.
